Rockland’s Jewish community Joins With Haitian Community To Collect Funds, Supplies For Earthquake Victims

The Jewish community in Rockland County is joining forces with the Haitian community to raise funds and collect food and supplies for Haiti following the devastating earthquake there.

County Legislator Aron Wieder organized an event Thursday.

Pallets of food and supplies were loaded onto container trucks in the parking lot of Village Hall in Spring Valley.

The goods will be eventually shipped to Haiti to help the citizens impacted by the earthquake to recover.

“This is about giving to the Haitian community. This is about having a heart. And feeling the pain of the people in Haiti,” says Wieder.

They are still collecting more goods and money to help pay for shipping.
